Climb briefing
HillyTwenty-one and a half kilometres at 7.5% average, but that hides what actually happens. The first six kilometres through Bédoin are the easiest you'll see all day, then Saint-Estève turns left into the forest and the gradient steps to 9% for nine kilometres straight. No respite, no flat corners. Chalet Reynard at km 16 opens onto the lunar summit. Wind here is on you the whole way to the top, most often a mistral from the north-west. Bring a gilet.
